Carrington will be quieter this week and next as United players fulfil their duties at several different levels of the international game.
The list of senior players away with their countries includes just two in the England squad. With captain Rio Ferdinand injured and defender Wes Brown recently announcing his retirement from the international scene, the only Reds in Fabio Capello's 23-man party are Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick. The United pair will be hoping to help England get off to a positive start in their European Championships qualifying matches against Bulgaria at home and Switzerland away on 3 and 7 September respectively.
United also have two representatives apiece in the Northern Ireland squad - Jonny Evans and brother Corry Evans could both face Slovenia this Saturday - and the Republic of Ireland squad, following John O'Shea and Darron Gibson's expected call-ups for the Armenia (away) and Andorra (home) games.
Darren Fletcher will captain Scotland against Lithuania (away) and Liechtenstein (home). Elsewhere in Europe, Nemanja Vidic's Serbia travel to the Faroe Islands before entertaining Slovenia while Nani
