Vidic angered by Serbia exit

United defender Nemanja Vidic was incensed as Serbia exited the World Cup in controversial circumstances.

The Reds centre-back confronted officials at full-time, no doubt to ask why his team were not awarded a late penalty when Australia's Tim Cahill handled the ball in the box.

Had the spot-kick been awarded and converted, then Serbia would have levelled the scores at 2-2 and progressed to the last 16 at Ghana's expense on goals scored. Instead, Australia won 2-1 - but they also exit the competition alongwith Vidic's bottom-placed team while Ghana go on to meet USA and group winners Germany face England.

Nemanja joins Patrice Evra in leaving South Africa at the end of the group stage, leaving Ji-sung Park (South Korea), Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez (Mexico), Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick (England) as the only Reds still dreaming of winning the World Cup.
