Sir Alex Ferguson: "We were disappointed we lost in 2009 but this isn't about revenge. It's about personal pride. We're very focused this time and our preparation has been better."

Rio Ferdinand: "It's more important for us to be well drilled as a team than to concentrate on individuals. If we work hard and do what's asked of us by the management then we'll have a good chance of being successful in this game."

Nemanja Vidic: "I'm happy to be captain and lead the team into big games, but if you finish the season without the trophy you're not satisfied."

Sir Alex Ferguson seemed to be both confident and relaxed when he addressed the world's media at Wembley on Friday, a little more than 24 hours before the biggest game of the season.

The United manager was joined at the pre-match press conference by Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, two of the players he's pinning his hopes on as the Reds take on Barcelona in the Champions League final.

"The experience of these two lads beside me [Ferdinand and Vidic] is vital to us," said Sir Alex. "I think our progress in Europe, particularly this season, gives us a good chance."
