Chicharito wins October gong

Javier Hernandez has scooped the ManUtd.com Player of the Month award for October.

The Mexico striker has been rewarded for his vital goals at Liverpool and Everton by gaining the accolade for the first time this term after landing the Fans' Player of the Year award in his debut season.

'Chicharito' polled 50 per cent of the overall vote to fight off fierce competition from David De Gea, who also performed well in both matches on Merseyside, with young guns Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck further back in the final reckoning.

The results were collated from our seven official websites - ManUtd.com and its Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean and Spanish versions - and Hernandez came out on top with almost 12,000 votes.
