Manchester United colleagues Tomasz Kuszczak and Joshua King were opponents on Saturday, although neither managed to secure any potential bragging rights as the Pole's loan club Watford drew with the Norwegian's temporary employers Hull City.
Ex-Reds defender James Chester gave Hull an early lead, heading past Kuszczak at the near post on four minutes. However, Troy Deeney levelled for the Hornets just a few moments later and the score remained at 1-1 as the Polish goalkeeper then made a superb stop to deny another Chester header before blocking a powerful Matty Fryatt strike.
King, fresh from his first senior goal against Middlesbrough last weekend, was unfortunate not to put Hull in front when his improvised shot flew over the bar, just moments after team-mate Corry Evans, brother of Jonny, struck the woodwork with a well-placed shot.
The 1-1 draw leaves the Hornets nine points short of the play-offs while Hull, who named Robbie Brady on the bench, are six adrift and need other results to go their way with just three games left.
