Sir Alex Ferguson will have both David De Gea and Anders Lindegaard at his disposal this weekend as Manchester United welcome Sunderland to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Denmark international Lindegaard missed last weekend’s Manchester derby to be at the birth of his first child, a son, although the 28-year-old goalkeeper revealed he couldn’t resist keeping up-to-date with events at the Etihad.
“I had my phone with me so I was checking up on the score and what was going on all the time,” he said. "I couldn't leave it completely.”
Lindegaard described his first steps into fatherhood as “a fantastic experience” and said Sunday had been “the greatest day of my life”.
