Poll: February star?

Rafael
Although he'll be disappointed to have only made four league starting XIs this season, the signs are that the Brazilian is kicking on now he is injury free. The right-back repaid Sir Alex's faith with two splendid contributions against Chelsea and Liverpool in his first back-to-back starts of the campaign, showing his customary passion and agility. A spirited display in the home leg against Ajax will also keep him in the manager's thoughts.

Wayne Rooney
It was a shame that a throat infection kept him out of the final two games of the month after four goals in the previous three fixtures. Two calmly-taken penalties set up the rescue act at Stamford Bridge and he was the undisputed main man against Liverpool, beating Pepe Reina twice at the start of the second half. Although he didn't score in Amsterdam, it was his pass that set up Hernandez's clincher.

Paul Scholes
It has simply been a masterstroke on the part of the midfield veteran to resume his playing career as he's slotted straight in like he's never been away. The 37-year-old's introduction at Chelsea helped turn the tide with the score at 1-3 as he fed the strikers at will. After rolling back the years in the satisfying win over Liverpool, he played a supporting role in the two games against Ajax as substitute but was in outstanding form at Norwich. Not only did he score the opener, but he was one of the top performers on the day.
