The Barclays Premier League title race went down to the wire and almost the very last kick, as Manchester United finished runners-up to Manchester City.

The Reds appeared to have retained the championship crown with a 1-0 win over Sunderland, thanks to Wayne Rooney’s header, while the Blues trailed 1-2 to QPR until two stoppage-time goals bagged the title for Roberto Mancini’s men.

A host of photographers - including the club's official snappers John and Matt Peters - were on hand to capture all the action on a tense afternoon in Sunderland.
