Preview: Braga v United

Last meeting: The only previous occasion the sides have met was at the Theatre of Dreams in the last Champions League fixture when United stormed back from going two goals down to collect the three points. Alan struck twice for the visitors but Javier Hernandez matched that feat and Jonny Evans also got on the scoresheet.

Did you know?: The Estadio Municipal de Braga, now known as the Estadio AXA, is one of the most striking in European football. Built for Euro 2004, it was carved from Monte Castro, a quarry, with rock walls at one end behind the goal. Designed by architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, it was apparently inspired in part by ancient Inca bridges.

Opposition boss: José Peseiro worked wonders at CD Nacional and is proving himself to be an astute coach with Braga. Guiding his side into the group stages of the Champions League was a feat in itself and they looked far from overawed in the 3-2 defeat at the Theatre of Dreams. The 41-year-old was bold enough to say after the loss: "We intimidated our opponents and put them on the defensive."

Star man: Six goals in six games marks Eder out as a real danger man. The Portugal international has been one of the revelations of the domestic campaign and some reports have linked him with a move to Old Trafford after his display in the 3-2 defeat. Powerful and skilful, the 24-year-old will look to lead the line with menace on his home patch.

Quote/unquote: "I'll be making some changes for Wednesday, no doubt about that. Obviously we want to win on Wednesday. If we get a win, that's better as we want to make sure we qualify first." Sir Alex Ferguson.
