Preview: United v Arsenal

Date, time and coverage: Saturday 3 November, 12:45 GMT. Live TV on Sky Sports in the UK. Live text and radio commentary on

Form guide: United had won five games in succession in all competitions before the Capital One Cup exit at Chelsea in midweek. Sir Alex's side may have lost at home to Arsenal's neighbours Tottenham at Old Trafford but otherwise have a flawless record at the Theatre of Dreams this term. The Gunners avoided a third consecutive defeat when staging a remarkable comeback from 4-0 down to beat Reading 7-5 in the cup. A late winner against QPR in their last league outing leaves the capital club in sixth place in the Barclays Premier League table.

Ins and outs: Sir Alex is set to make wholesale changes to the personnel on duty in midweek with Rafael looking the only player certain to keep his place, despite playing the full 120 minutes. Chris Smalling is close to a comeback, however, and the manager is spoilt for choice in terms of attacking choices. Shinji Kagawa, Phil Jones and Nemanja Vidic remain sidelined. Arsenal are without Wojciech Szczesny, Kieran Gibbs and Abou Diaby but Jack Wilshere is fit again and Theo Walcott is an option to start following his hat-trick at Reading.

Last meeting: The Reds triumphed 2-1 at the Emirates last January with Danny Welbeck slamming the winner. Antonio Valencia's headed opener had been cancelled out by Robin van Persie. Arsenal's last visit to M16 ended in an 8-2 hiding in a memorable fixture towards the start of the 2011/2012 season.
