Form guide: Last weekend, Manchester United recorded a 3-1 win over QPR in the Barclays Premier League to move one point ahead of Manchester City, who could only manage a 0-0 draw against title rivals Chelsea. As a result, the Reds hope to retain top spot with victory over West Ham, who travel to Old Trafford on the back of a disappointing defeat to Tottenham. The Hammers are buoyed by a decent record in M16, though, having won on three of their last 10 visits.

Betting: Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that midfielder Anderson will start following the Brazilian’s superb cameo against the relegation-threatened Hoops on Saturday. As a result, why not back him to score first at generous odds of 16/1?

Ins and outs: The boss will recall Anderson to the starting XI but is without Nani and will wait until Tuesday afternoon to make a decision on fellow winger Antonio Valencia, who's nursing a hip injury. Paul Scholes is suspended, but Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are both fit and available. West Ham are without Yossi Benayoun, Alou Diarra, Ricardo Vaz Te and Jack Collison.
