Jose Peseiro’s men were beaten 2-0 by Cluj in their opening fixture and have kept just one clean sheet in their seven fixtures on their own patch in all competitions. But instead of taking the 21/20 on United, I will again refer punters to an amazing trend which I first mentioned when previewing the trip to Cluj a few weeks ago. Seventeen of the 23 goals the Reds have scored in Champions League away games since the start of the 2009/10 season have arrived in the second half, while the same is true of 11 of their most recent 14.
With figures like that, United to win the second half looks superb value at 27/20, while the Reds to score more goals after the interval than before it is a very tempting 29/20. And considering Hernandez loves scoring against certain opponents – as Chelsea fans know only too well – the Mexican could be a great bet at 7/4 to follow up his brace in the first meeting with another goal in Portugal.
