Manchester United enjoyed a fruitful November, assuming leadership of the Barclays Premier League and clinching qualification as top dogs in Champions League Group H.

Based on individual performances, we have produced a four-man shortlist for the club's Player of the Month award. The Reds won five times in the seven games and only conceded more than one goal once - during the 3-2 triumph at Aston Villa - so a couple of defenders are rewarded for their efforts.

Jonny Evans deserves plenty of praise for his displays at the heart of the defence. The 24 year-old has been exceptional both in terms of defending and bringing the ball forward and he also notched his third goal of the campaign with a header against QPR. The Reds won every game he played in during November - the Northern Ireland international missed the back-to-back defeats away to Norwich City and Galatasaray.

Another defender who really caught the eye during the month was right-back Rafael. The tigerish Brazilian was in effervescent form, starting six of the seven matches - coming on as a substitute in the other, Braga away - and was one of the key performers in each of them.

Further forward, Anderson earned praise from Sir Alex after his appearance off the bench against QPR. Adding drive and panache to the midfield, he featured in all of the November games and it's difficult to ignore his contribution. Finally, October's victor Javier Hernandez is in the running to retain the award after continuing to find the net regularly. The Mexican hitman scored four times, including a crucial brace as a substitute against Villa, and has looked sharp and confident in attack.
