Wayne Rooney has romped to victory in our Braga Man of the Match poll.
The striker won and converted the penalty which put United 2-1 up in the Champions League Group H clash in Portugal, before flicking on Antonio Valencia's cross to Chicharito who, eventually, netted the Reds' third goal in injury-time to seal a 3-1 victory and book United's spot in the knock-out stages of the competition.
Rooney scooped 57 per cent of the votes cast in our poll, with David De Gea, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Wednesday, finishing second with 21 per cent. Ryan Giggs and Chris Smalling completed the shortlist with each receiving 10 per cent of the votes.
November’s first Man of the Match poll – for Saturday’s 2-1 win over Arsenal – was won by the first goalscorer, Robin van Persie. The Dutchman’s display against his old club at Old Trafford earned 47 per cent of the votes on ManUtd.com while Wayne Rooney was the runner-up with 31 per cent.
Patrice Evra’s performance – including the Reds’ decisive second goal – claimed third place in the Arsenal poll, ahead of fellow defenders Jonny Evans and Rio Ferdinand who made up the rest of the shortlist.
