Anderson came out on top in ManUtd.com's Man of the Match poll for the Capital One Cup victory over Newcastle United, having gleaned just under half of the votes.
The Brazilian midfielder put the Reds on track for a win with his terrific left-footed strike from 25 yards and generally impressed with his all-round performance. Anderson will no doubt hope the display, in only his second start of the season, will help him reclaim a regular place in the United line-up.
Runner-up to Anderson's 49 per cent was his fellow midfielder Tom Cleverley, who received 22 per cent of the votes after scoring his first senior goal for the Reds.
Wayne Rooney was close behind Cleverley on 20 per cent after his impressive return from injury, while two members of the inexperienced United back four - Alexander Büttner and Michael Keane - were also nominated and shared the remaining votes.
