Fletcher back in squad

"I have to make my mind up on that one. He may make the bench. I’m just looking at the options I’ve got. There's a possibility he could. The important thing at this stage is that he's back in the squad.

"I'm looking at the Newcastle cup game in a couple of weeks as a starting point for him. With us, as you know, we alter the make-up of the side in that competition. That week is also a particularly busy week. I’ve got Liverpool on the Sunday, Newcastle on the Wednesday and then Tottenham on Saturday. It’s a big week."

Ryan Giggs spoke for Fletcher's team-mates when he told ManUtd.com how delighted everyone is to see Darren fighting fit again.

"It’s a great boost for everyone. No-one really knew what was happening regarding when Fletch would be back so it’s great to see him come back this season, fitter and stronger," said Giggs.

"He’s trained with us a lot and played a few reserve games and looks good. I’m sure everyone – the players, the staff and the fans – are all happy to see Fletch back."
