Rafael now has a ManUtd.com Man of the Match award to go with the three points he helped United earn at Anfield on Sunday.
The young Brazilian, who curled a brilliant left-footed effort into the far corner on 51 minutes to cancel out Steven Gerrard's opener, claimed 61 per cent of the fans' post-match vote.
Rafael described the strike as "my best goal for United" and it no doubt influenced ManUtd.com users' decision to vote for the defender. But his contribution also included a number of other attacking forays down the right wing and a fine defensive display.
Speaking of solid defensive outings, Rio Ferdinand was commanding in the heart of the Reds' defence and won a quarter of the fans' votes, with Michael Carrick and Jonny Evans sharing the rest.
