Rooney's a Red for life

Wayne Rooney has reiterated his desire to see out his career at Manchester United.

Speaking at the launch of his new book, My Decade In The Premier League, the Reds striker revealed he wants to remain at Old Trafford until it's time to hang up his boots.

"I hope to [stay here forever]," he told Sky Sports. "I want to be successful here, I want to still be playing here in the next 10 years.

"You look at Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, how successful they have been. They are an example to us all. That is the idea, that is the plan, and hopefully that will be the case.

"I love playing for Manchester United and as long as I am wanted to play for this football club I will be here for a long time.

"It is a great football club and, let's be honest, where else can you go from this football club? It is probably the biggest team in the world."

Rooney also spoke at length to and MUTV about his four title-winning seasons at Old Trafford. You can watch that exclusive video interview, in four daily instalments, here on from Saturday 8 September (08:00 BST).

Wayne Rooney was speaking ahead of the launch of his new book, My Decade In The Premier League , out Thursday 13 September through Harper Collins.
