Vote: Man of the Match

Manchester United opened up a 15-point gap again at the Barclays Premier League summit with a 2-0 win at Stoke City.

There were a number of impressive performers for the Reds at the Britannia Stadium and the team have produced a five-man shortlist.

Wayne Rooney was Sky Sports' star man as he adapted to a midfield role with ease and Michael Carrick is another clear contender following his first Barclays Premier League goal of the season and another assured masterclass in midfield.

At the back, Nemanja Vidic was a tower of strength in dealing with all of the aerial problems caused by Stoke in strong winds and Patrice Evra was a bundle of energy at left-back. Our final nominee played on the other flank as Phil Jones continues to look a class act regardless of which position he is stationed in.
