Momentum is a powerful force and Nemanja Vidic feels confident United are heading in the right direction ahead of Sunday’s seismic encounter with historic rivals Liverpool.
The champions were impressive winners at Swansea City on the opening day of the season before drawing with Chelsea on Monday, in a match that was keenly contested but ultimately lacked clear-cut chances as a result of two outstanding defensive displays and some rustiness in the final third.
Although a home draw is not viewed as a success at the Theatre of Dreams, Vidic observed several positives in United’s performance to suggest their form will improve for some even bigger games to come – starting with this weekend’s trip to Anfield.
"We had more possession around their box than they had ours," he reasoned. "The final pass was not great but I think we also might have scored. It was a tactical game which is why you could argue it was not great to watch. But we have some positives to take. I believe we are pleased with our form.
“I don't look at it that Chelsea have more to take from the game. We played a good game and didn't allow them chances. We had a few situations where we could have scored. It was a positive game for us. We played really solid and I believe we are going to be even better in the future games."
Referring to Sunday’s clash with Liverpool, Vida said: "It is always tough to go to Anfield. It is going to be no different this year. They have started well with two wins. They have some confidence. But we go there pleased with our form, too. We have six days until that game. We will be
