Leading United into league combat for the first time, after winning the Community Shield last weekend, is clearly something that excites the new manager.
"Everybody wants to play Manchester United and do well," he stated. "I'm sure I'm going to be made aware of that very early.
"But to be called Manchester United manager is probably the biggest thrill. It's a real privilege to be in that position and I'm going to do everything I possibly can to make it as good as I can and work hard to make sure the club continues to have success."
