Robin van Persie has been named Manchester United Player of the Month for August by fans voting on the club's official websites and global social media.
"It's always nice to win awards, especially when it's voted for by the fans who watch us every week, whether we're playing at Old Trafford or anywhere in the country," Robin told ManUtd.com. "So, I'd like to thank all the supporters who voted for me.
"I'm pleased to have scored four goals but it's more important to me that the team has made a good start to the season, and there is more to come."
The Dutchman scored twice in the Community Shield triumph against Wigan Athletic at Wembley and he bagged another impressive double at Swansea in the Barclays Premier League, before leading the line in the top-of-the-table stalemate against Chelsea.
Our Player of the Month shortlist featured three players who stood out in August and van Persie polled a commanding 57 per cent of votes. He beat second-placed Nemanja Vidic (26 per cent), while Danny Welbeck finished in third spot with a commendable 17 per cent.
