Danny Welbeck received the Man of the Match accolade for his performance in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday.
The striker produced a superb attacking display and scored twice early on to help the Reds to an important victory at Villa Park. Subsequently, 40 per cent of fans voting on United's official Twitter account @ManUtd picked out Welbeck as the game's stand-out performer.
Reds boss David Moyes was full of praise for Welbeck after the match, who spearheaded United's attack in the absence of the injured Robin van Persie.
"Danny Welbeck is someone who we know needs to continue scoring goals," said Moyes. "He was good today, I thought he was a threat and he maybe could have had another one or two goals. It would have been nice for him to get a hat-trick but nevertheless two's a good tally for him."
