David Beckham says he is expecting more success for Manchester United under David Moyes.
The former Reds midfielder has always kept a close eye on his boyhood team since he said farewell in 2003 and, following his retirement from the game in the summer, he now has more time to watch the team in person at Old Trafford. Becks has attended a few games already this term and while some results have been a surprise, he fully expects the Reds to win trophies under Moyes.
“There was always going to be a transitional period with the manager leaving and a new manager coming in. I think David Moyes is a great manager and a good person,” he said during an exclusive interview with MUTV which will be screened in full on Saturday at 18:30 GMT.
“Sir Alex Ferguson always said that when a club like Manchester United loses big players they move on very quickly. The manager has now moved on, he was part of this club for so many years and even though he is still part of it, it’s important that the club still moves on.
“The fans will never forget what Sir Alex did for Manchester United, but there is a new manager that the players are behind and the fans are behind and I think he’ll be very successful.”
