Manchester United fans will be able to map out the 2013/14 Barclays Premier League season on Wednesday when the official fixtures are released at 09:00 BST.
Traditionally a huge day for supporters, it signals the onset of a new campaign and offers a chance to assess key matches and look forward to what will hopefully become another title-winning term.
On the whole, the Reds have a fairly impressive curtain-raiser record throughout the Premier League’s 21-year history, having won 13 times, drawn four and lost only four.
Ironically, one of those defeats was against David Moyes’ Everton at Goodison Park last term, a victory that was the Scot’s fifth first-match triumph during his 11-year tenure with the Toffees.
Of course, on Wednesday, the 50-year-old will discover which team he will face during his top-flight debut in charge of the champions, an occasion that will draw the attention of an intrigued football world.
The forthcoming fixture list makes us wonder... who would be the ideal first league opponents for David Moyes? Is it better to face a newly-promoted side, a mid-table
