The planned testimonial for Alan Tate between Swansea City and a Manchester United XI on Tuesday 13 August has been postponed.
A Reds selection was due to honour Tate, who began his career at United as a trainee and had a loan spell at Royal Antwerp before joining the Swans in 2002, at the Liberty Stadium. The game will now take place at a later date.
Of course, United will still travel to South Wales in August, to begin the 2013/14 Barclays Premier League campaign. That fixture is currently scheduled for Saturday 17 August but, as with all the fixtures, is subject to change (the first set of TV selections will be made in July).
