Anders: Reds will respond

Anders Lindegaard insists United are determined to consign Tuesday's Champions League disappointment to the past by progressing to the FA Cup semi-finals.

The Reds have another big game at Old Trafford with Chelsea coming to town and victory would ensure a place at Wembley in the last four of a competition United last won in 2004.

The Dane, who was an unused substitute in midweek, is clearly in a positive frame of mind despite the frustration and disappointment of the Real Madrid defeat.

"We have to respond," he informed MUTV. "I sense a certain determination in the team as well that Sunday there are going to be no questions asked about who is going to win that game. We have to bounce back quickly and strongly."

Lindegaard, who played his second Under-21 game as an over-aged player and kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 success against West Ham, remains determined to push David De Gea for his first-team place.

"What this game was all about was to get some minutes in my legs," he stressed. "It’s been way too long since I played. I miss it a lot so

"There is no substitute for being at Old Trafford in a match situation but this is better than nothing. So I enjoy playing games for the Reserves once in a while and it’s good for the match practice to keep sharp."
