Sir Alex Ferguson has praised Swansea City, and striker Michu in particular, after being impressed by the Capital One Cup winners.
The Welsh side earned a 1-1 draw with the Reds at Liberty Stadium in December, with their Spanish top scorer cancelling out Patrice Evra's opener, and have claimed some major scalps under astute manager Michael Laudrup.
After being asked by Inside United if any team or player had taken him by surprise this term, the boss replied: "Swansea have been terrific.
"The boy Michu has been a revelation. To sign him for just £2million and get 20 goals out of him - what a bargain!
"I wouldn't say Swansea have been the surprise package but they've really lifted their performances. They were a newly-promoted side last year and managed to survive in the top flight. This season, they've kicked on to another level and become a good middle-to-top side.
"They also won the League Cup of course and they play really good football. I'd say they're the team of the year with Michu a real bargain buy."
