Shinji Kagawa shared his delight with MUTV after scoring his first hat-trick for Manchester United in Saturday's 4-0 win over Norwich City.
Speaking through an interpreter, the Japanese international said the feat surprised him as much as anyone - "I didn't think I was able to score a hat-trick so I am very happy!"
When asked what kind of reaction his hat-trick will receive in his homeland, the matchwinner told MUTV's Stewart Gardner: "It will probably be huge news in Japan but fans there are looking forward to the Real Madrid game and that's what I'm now aiming for as well. It will be a fantastic evening."
Meanwhile, Kagawa was the clear winner of the ManUtd.com Man of the Match award with 77 per cent of the vote. Wayne Rooney (18%) was the treble hero's closest challenger with Michael Carrick in third place ahead of fellow nominees Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra.
