Preview: United v Swansea

Christmas. There was some controversy with Sir Alex upset with Ashley Williams for belting the ball at a grounded Robin van Persie, which sparked an angry response from the striker.

Opposition boss: Michael Laudrup has done a fabulous job with the Swans, replacing Brendan Rodgers in style following the Northern Irishman's switch to Liverpool. By steering the club to its first major trophy, courtesy of a 5-0 win against Bradford City at Wembley in the Capital One Cup final, he has surely exceeded expectations in his first year in charge. The Dane played against United for Barcelona in the 1991 European Cup-Winners' Cup final.

Star man: With Michu an injury doubt, Ashley Williams is likely to be the main man for the Swans as he holds the defence together with his imposing presence. The powerful centre-back has been touted for a move to pastures new in the summer and will aim to frustrate the Reds' attacking intentions on Sunday. The 28-year-old former Stockport County stopper is a full Wales international.

Quote Unquote: "Unfortunately legend is a word that is used far too often in the media today, but here we are really talking about a legend of football and I am proud to be Ferguson's opponent in his last home game as manager at Old Trafford." Michael Laudrup, Swansea manager.

Whistle blower: Jon Moss is the man in the middle. The referee took charge of the 2-0 wins against West Brom (home) and Stoke City (away) for the Reds this season.

Rivals watch: On the penultimate weekend of another successful season for the Reds, Manchester City are in FA Cup final
