The Manchester United captain was hurt in a collision with David De Gea towards the end of the first half and failed to re-emerge following the interval.
Manager David Moyes revealed that the Serbian would have a scan on the injury after looking dazed as he left the field.
Phil Jones slotted in at centre-back with Tom Cleverley coming on as a substitute and playing in midfield.
United's next outing is on Sunday 24 November at Premier League new boys Cardiff City.
