An aggressive midfield all-rounder, Ryan Tunnicliffe is a player of obvious passion, grit and determination.

With no shortage of natural footballing ability, he excelled as a key member of Paul McGuinness' youth team and formed a splendid midfield triumvirate with Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba as the FA Youth Cup was secured in 2011.

Capable of driving his team-mates on with some inspirational performances in midfield, it was felt the time was right to cut his teeth in league football and he joined Darren Ferguson's Peterborough United on loan rather than kick off the season in the Reserves.

After returning from Posh, he was a regular in Warren Joyce's team win two trophies at the end of the campaign - notching his first goal at that level at Chelsea. After being harshly sent off in the Dallas Cup final for dissent, he has worked hard to curb his natural aggression and ensure his tough tackling is timed to perfection.

Most of 2012/2013 was spent in the Under-21 squad but he also had a short loan spell with Barnsley and played in the FA Cup tie against Manchester
