Javier Hernandez was named Man of the Match by fans on ManUtd.com and @ManUtd on Twitter after his two-goal display against Norwich City in the Reds' 4-0 Capital One Cup fourth round win.
Chicharito polled 50 per cent of the votes from United fans around the world as he continued where he left off in the Barclays Premier League victory against Stoke City on Saturday, leading the scoring once again at Old Trafford.
Hernandez struck from the penalty spot after 20 minutes and then added another at the start of the second half. He is renowned as a so-called 'supersub', but his all-round play was excellent and as a constant goal threat he proved that he is just as deadly playing from the first whistle as he is moments from the last.
Adnan Januzaj, impressive in the no.10 role against the Canaries, earned 41 per cent of the vote while Alex Büttner picked up the remaining nine per cent.
United assistant manager Steve Round praised Chicharito's performance as well as his persistence in waiting for his opportunity to play and then ruthlessly taking it.
"He has such a good character that I don't think it has fazed him at all [being in and out of the team]," he said. "He knows he'll get his opportunities. In training every day he is a really infectious character who loves to score goals. He has waited patiently for his opportunities and when he gets them he takes them."
MUTV pundit and ex-Red Henning Berg, who selected the three-player shortlist, said: "Adnan and Chicharito played really well but I also thought Alex did great as well. That's why I included him too because it's good to see a young guy being attack-minded and showing his quality."
