Rooney feels settled

Wayne Rooney says he is settled at Manchester United and is feeling as fit as ever.

The prolific striker has been in outstanding form this term and was the runaway winner of the Reds' official Player of the Month award for September, as voted by fans on ManUtd.com and @ManUtd on Twitter.

After the champions made it clear throughout the summer that the England international was staying at Old Trafford, he is clearly focused on hitting the net regularly for new manager David Moyes and chasing down Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time goal record.

"To be honest, I've been settled all summer," Rooney told reporters while on international duty. "Obviously there's been a lot of stuff happening and I'm sure everybody was waiting for me to say something but I've been settled. I spoke with the people who matter at the club and we've known ourselves what we are doing. I'm sure the club made that clear.

"I didn't want to come out and say anything, I just wanted to concentrate on my football. That's what I've done, that's what I'll continue to do. I'll just concentrate on my football and see what happens after that."

Rooney knew Moyes from their time at Everton and is determined to flourish under the new boss after feeling he was not in top form last term, despite helping the Reds win another Barclays Premier League title.
