Danny Welbeck leads our international round-up after scoring twice in England's 4-0 mauling of Moldova in the World Cup qualifiers.
United's sole representative in Roy Hodgson's starting XI was involved in the move that led to Steven Gerrard's sweet strike opening the scoring with Rickie Lambert, in for the injured Wayne Rooney, heading a second.
Welbeck scored his goals either side of the half-time interval as he latched onto Lambert's chip to glide past Stanislav Namasco and bag his seventh international goal from only eight shots on target for England. In the 50th minute, the exciting forward was again played in by Lambert and produced an assured left-foot finish over Namasco.
Although unable to complete his hat-trick from a couple of half-openings, it was a convincing performance by the striker but he misses Tuesday's trip to Ukraine after being harshly booked for kicking the ball away. Ashley Young, Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley could all feature for the Group H leaders after being unused substitutes at Wembley.
Jonny Evans and Nani were involved in a cracking qualifier in Belfast as Cristiano Ronaldo scored a superb treble in Portugal's 4-2 triumph against Northern Ireland. The hosts surprisingly led 2-1
