"I'm not giving up on anything," affirmed the striker in the Daily Star. "I'm here to show everyone what I can do and who I am. I've got nothing to prove - except to myself.
"I want to enjoy myself playing football then we will see in the future what happens. The manager [Paul Dickov] has been chasing me for a long time. I came here because of him and I wanted to thank him. It's thanks to him I have my confidence back. Hopefully, I can stay until January."
Nick Powell got off the mark for Wigan Athletic on Sunday with an impudent effort to seal a 2-0 victory against Ryan Tunnicliffe's Ipswich Town. The former Crewe midfielder pounced on a mistake by keeper Dean Gerken to score in style towards the end of his team's victory.
"He’s got so much belief in himself, he finished it off when he was good and ready," Latics chief Owen Coyle said of the confident strike. "He has pace and power and unbelievable natural ability, and there is no doubt he is destined for an outstanding career.
