David Moyes is convinced Bayern Munich will miss talented duo Bastian Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez during next Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg at the Allianz Arena.
Schweinsteiger, who scored the equaliser in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, was shown a second yellow card on the night for a foul on Wayne Rooney. Martinez, who operated at the heart of the defence and excelled against the Reds for Athletic Club in the 2011/12 Europa League knockout stages, is also banned for the Bavarian encounter after collecting a yellow card.
With Patrice Evra back from his suspension, United will be in good shape for the clash and hoping to capitalise on any chinks in Bayern's armour.
"They're both important players for them so it [the suspensions] limits the coach's choices and what he can do," explained Moyes to MUTV. "We'll have to try to take advantage of it. We have to go there and play as well as we did tonight, even more so because we have to go there and win the game or at least get a goal. I am confident we can do that.
"We've got a lot to do and we need to be mindful that we need to score. We must make sure we're in the game but, if they score anyway, we'll still need to score. It doesn't change an awful lot in the initial part of the game. We'll look at it this week and see what we need to do to prepare ourselves for the game."
