Loans: Four Reds score

Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard scored to keep Brighton in the hunt for a Championship play-off place, a goal which relegated fellow loanee Tom Lawrence and Yeovil Town.

The striker found the net late on and won the Man of the Match award in the Seagulls' 2-0 win at the Amex Stadium, temporarily putting his side back into the league's final play-off spot.

Hot on their heels are Blackburn Rovers, who are now just one point behind their promotion rivals after an impressive 3-1 win over struggling Charlton Athletic at The Valley. Michael Keane rose to power home a header from a free-kick to notch the second goal for Rovers, while Davide Petrucci couldn't help the hosts find a way back into the game after coming off the bench.

It was a day of mixed emotions for Birmingham's Federico Macheda, who put his name on the scoresheet against Leeds United, but failed to prevent his side dropping into the relegation zone after an eventual 3-1 loss at St. Andrews. Tyler Blackett was absent while Tom Thorpe was replaced due to injury late on for the Midlanders, who face high-flying Wigan on Tuesday night.

Wigan can clinch a play-off place with a win over Birmingham after suffering a surprise 2-0 loss at home to Blackpool on Saturday. Striker Nick Powell entered the game at half-time but came up against an inspired Matt Gilks in the Tangerines' goal, on what was a frustrating day for the hosts.
