Loans: Zaha boost

Manchester United loanee Wilfried Zaha helped Cardiff City to a vital point against Stoke City in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.

The Reds winger came off the bench in the second half of the Bluebirds' 1-1 home draw, and will hope to feature when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side travel to Sunderland for a crucial match next Sunday.

In the Championship, defender Michael Keane came up against fellow Reds loanee Tom Lawrence, as Blackburn Rovers were held to a home stalemate by bottom club Yeovil. The 0-0 result leaves Rovers four points short of the play-off places as things stand.

Jesse Lingard's Brighton remain in the coveted sixth position, after grabbing an 83rd-minute equaliser away to Huddersfield Town.

Sam Johnstone and Doncaster Rovers couldn't prevent an in-form Derby County side from taking all three points away from the Keepmoat Stadium, as strikes either side of half-time saw his side dragged closer to the relegation zone. However, the youngster made an excellent save late on to deny Jamie Ward's speculative effort and keep the score at 0-2.

Nick Powell came off the bench for Wigan Athletic, who cruised to a comfortable 3-0 home victory against play-off chasing Reading, six days after a dramatic penalties defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final.
