A plethora of loan moves on Friday began with Wilfried Zaha's switch to Cardiff being finalised. Then came the announcement that Belgian midfielder Charni Ekangamene and Irish striker Sam Byrne had joined Carlisle United - like Zaha, their loan stints will run until the end of the season.
Birmingham City have seemingly been watching United's Under-21s very closely, as the Midlands club has acquired a trio of young Reds - Federico Macheda, Tom Thorpe and Tyler Blackett - for the rest of the current campaign.
Early on Friday evening, we learned of Tom Lawrence's new loan club - after a recent successful spell with Carlisle, the Welsh striker has moved to Championship side Yeovil Town. Fellow United forward Will Keane is also hoping to gain some first-team experience in the second tier after joining QPR until June. Meanwhile, Sam Johnstone has embarked on a four-week period at Doncaster Rovers.
