Zaha loan move on hold

Manchester United boss David Moyes has explained the current situation regarding loan interest in Wilfried Zaha.

The summer signing from Crystal Palace has attracted enquiries from other clubs in the Barclays Premier League, attempting to obtain the winger on a temporary basis during this month's transfer window.

However, Zaha has been increasingly involved in matchday squads of late and injuries to Ashley Young and Nani have ensured the manager cannot entertain the prospect of losing the England international. With the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Sunderland following the trip to Chelsea, there could well be a role to play for the skilful wide man.

"I said to Wilf if I couldn’t get him games I’d put him on loan," stated Moyes. "But he can’t go out loan while I’ve got Young and Nani out injured. I’m surprised anybody was even thinking about that as a possibility with that situation arising."
