De Gea wins Save of Season

David De Gea's superb double stop against Olympiacos in the Champions League has been chosen as Manchester United's Save of the Season for 2013/14 by the club's Facebook followers.

The Spaniard showed fine reflexes to keep out David Fuster's header and then recovered quickly to block the follow-up from Alejandro Dominguez, preserving the Reds' lead on the night en route to a memorable comeback victory on aggregate.

De Gea took the top three places in the poll, with his stops against the Greek outfit receiving 41 per cent of the vote, followed by saves against Liverpool's Luis Suarez (33 per cent) and Emanuele Giaccherini of Sunderland (eight per cent). Anders Lindegaard was the next-highest United stopper on the list as he expertly denied Papiss Cisse in a 4-0 triumph at Newcastle.
