Manchester United winger Ashley Young was as disappointed as anyone after the midweek derby defeat against Manchester City but is confident that the Reds can bounce back on Saturday against Aston Villa.
Young pointed to recent impressive displays against Olympiacos and West Ham as examples of what United are capable of and believes that the champions will need to summon the kind of display that earned those two 3-0 wins when the Villans come to Old Trafford.
"We had two fantastic results against Olympiacos and West Ham but to then lose the derby in the way that we did was disappointing," Young told MUTV. "That's the way it's been this season, we've had setbacks and we have to bounce back from them.
"We've got seven games in the league left and two legs in the Champions League and we want to win every game in front of us. When you have a defeat, especially a derby, you want to get back to winning ways and hopefully we can do that on Saturday against Villa."
Young offered his view on the mixed campaign currently being experienced by his former employers.
"They've had an up and down season," he added. "They beat Chelsea recently and then went and lost to Stoke. They've got some really good players such as Gabriel Agbonlahor, Fabian Delph and Christian Benteke, but they've got quite a young team and are probably lacking that bit of experience to get the mixture right. Hopefully they won't do that on Saturday and we'll get the result we are hoping to get."
