Cleverley on Manchester

Key figures from Manchester's sporting, entertainment and creative fields descended on the Museum of Science & Industry on Thursday night to celebrate the city and showcase Nike's Made Of Manchester collection.

The range of leisurewear is, like United's playing kit for the 2012/13 season, inspired by gingham, a pattern produced en masse in Manchester's mills in the mid-18th century.

Nods to Manchester's working-class heritage were evident throughout Thursday's event, but there was also a focus on the future. Reds Chris Smalling and Tom Cleverley, both rising stars at United, made appearances and you can watch the video above to see Tom, who moved to the city aged 15, tell us what Manchester means to him.

You can do the same by Tweeting your answer to "What does Manchester mean to you?" with the #madeofmanchester hashtag.
