Reds mark Lunar New Year

Manchester United is once again joining millions of people around the world in celebrating Lunar New Year 2013, which falls on 10 February.

To mark the start of the Year of the Snake, three Reds first-teamers took part in activities commonly practised by Chinese communities at this time.

In the carousel above you can watch videos of Anderson, Alex Büttner and Sam Johnstone when they recently joined us at the Chinese Arts Centre in Manchester.

The trio launched paper lanterns containing New Year goodwill messages sent by fans via Facebook, took part in a ‘lion dance’ routine led by local group the Northern Dragons, and got to grips with a traditional Chinese yo-yo, or ‘diabolo’.

We're giving away a copy of United Review, signed by a first-team player, from the Reds game that falls on Lunar New Year's Day, against Everton on 10 February. Click here to enter the competition.

Chinese speakers can find more exclusive content in our dedicated New Year section at www.manutd.com/cny.

Everyone at United would like to send our best wishes for a prosperous 2013 to all Reds fans who are celebrating Lunar New Year.
