Transfer rumours: July

The World Cup is over, but the British press are tipping several of the tournament's leading lights to make their way to Old Trafford before the summer is out.

Dutch midfield general Wesley Sneijder, a beaten finalist in South Africa, insists he's happy at Inter Milan despite an alleged £29million bid by United – one which was strongly denied by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Germany livewire Mesut Ozil is also flavour of the month, though the Reds will reportedly have to part with £25million to prise him away from Werder Bremen. Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is another familiar name on the list.
