Transfer rumours: Sep & Oct
With the January transfer window on the horizon, speculation linking the world's top players with a move to Old Trafford is rife as the British press suggest potential targets for Sir Alex Ferguson.
In September and October, the papers claimed United were interested in several attacking midfielders, most notably Bastian Schweinsteiger, for whom Bayern Munich apparently wanted £30m. Wesley Sneijder of Inter Milan is another familiar name linked with a move to M16.
