04/10/2013: Roma coach Rudi Garcia has revealed that Daniele De Rossi was targeted by United after the start of the Serie A season. "In the summer we talked about his future. He is from Rome, but there were some big clubs looking at him,” Garcia told L’Equipe. "I told him that I could not lose him last minute so we set a date after which no one would leave. That is exactly what happened. A few days after the first Serie A match of the season, Manchester United called the club and called him, but the date had passed and he didn't move."
04/10/2013: The Daily Mail writes that United are trailing Genk giant Kalidou Koulibaly. The France Under-20 international only joined the Belgian club from Metz last year but has been impressing in the Europa League. Manchester City are also said to be scouting the 22-year-old, who can play in defensive midfield or at the heart of the back four.
