Profile A talented attacking midfielder signed from PSV Eindhoven in 2012, Pereira has vision and creativity in abundance. Slick on the ball with an eye for a pass and, as his goal in the FA Youth Cup against Burnley proved, spectacular strikes, too. Though born in Belgium – he has represented them at youth level – he insists: "My heart is Brazilian."
Season Captain for the Milk Cup success, he started every UEFA Youth League match in a creative role and was influential for Nicky Butt's side. He converted a penalty in the U18s win over Everton and was also on target in the Youth Cup.
Style Very comfortable and confident in possession, he is a passing pivot in the middle of the field. He's first in the queue for set-pieces, whether it's free-kicks, corners or penalties.
Quoted "Andreas is very highly thought of and is a lad who has got a lot of ability and potential. That's what it is at the moment – potential. We need to get the best out of him to make him a complete player. Something Andreas has got to work on is mixing his game up a lot more but he can look at Adnan Januzaj's progress because he's a great benchmark for all our young lads." – Nicky Butt
Moment His FA Youth Cup strike against Burnley was stunning. In possession 25 yards out, seemingly no danger to his opponents, he shifted the ball to his right and arced a wonderful, unstoppable shot into the far top corner to seal a fourth round spot.
