After beginning its five-month journey in Brazil, the United Trophy Tour, delivered by DHL, continued around Latin America in Chile and Ecuador this week.
Reds legend Denis Irwin again accompanied the Barclays Premier League trophy and they were the star attractions at a shopping centre event in Chile's capital, Santiago, on Tuesday.
Scores of fans, all eager to get a glimpse of the silverware, meet Treble-winning defender Irwin and view items of memorabilia from the Manchester United Museum, came out to greet the Reds party and were thrilled by the experience.
Santiago resident Gonzalo Osorio said: "I think this type of event is the best in the world because Manchester United is an ambassador for the greatest sport in the world.
"All the countries on the Trophy Tour have been looking forward to meeting Denis and seeing the museum. My son will never forget this day – it is a very special moment. Thank you for coming to Chile!"
United were swiftly back in the air again, making the 2,200-mile trip to Ecuador to display the trophy at Guayaquil’s iconic Hemiciclo de la Rotonda monument, where a police brass band helped create a carnival atmosphere for the fans in attendance.
